ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — Another bombshell in Albany as Governor Kathy Hochul released new COVID-19 death data within hours of taking office. The new numbers, first reported by the Associated Press Wednesday increase New York’s total COVID-19 death count by nearly 12,000.
The revelation comes after Hochul committed to a platform of transparency in her new administration, but both Democrats and Republicans are calling for more accountability. Tuesday night, just hours after she took office, Hochul’s administration publicly reported almost 12,000 additional COVID-19 deaths, never acknowledged by outgoing Governor Andrew Cuomo.
