Renzi Foodservice of Watertown to be acquired by national firm

Watertown-based Renzi Foodservice is set to be acquired by US Foods later this year.

US Foods, a national food distribution businesses based in Rosemont, Illinois, announced the deal today.

Renzi, a family-owned business for two generations, has over $180 million in annual revenue and serves more than 2,300 restaurants, health care facilities, schools, government groups, convenience stores and others. The company will continue to operate in the 110,000-square-foot facility where it runs today, according to US Foods.

The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, pending regulatory approvals. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition will help US Foods extend its reach in Central New York and the North Country, the company said.
